Dandy

Autumnal madness

Well I am on line at home now though my own computer is not yet networked and from where I sit I can see the leaves of the trees that are changing colour,a wonderful mix of yellows reds and browns to go with the already quite considerable range of greens. From upstairs it is possible to look down on the carpet of leaves scattered across the brilliant emerald green of the lawn.... which owes its colour more to the mosses and other bryophyta than it does to the richness of the grasses....when the mosses look as good as they do I wonder if the best policy might not be to just keep them trimmed and let them flourish greenly.

The weather has been completely insane just recently, the temperature the other day was much more akin to mid summer than to the end of October, the rain keeps coming though at the moment I can see more blue sky than cloud. The other day I watched water droplets dancing along the washing line, weighed down as it was then by a bird feeder, and the water drops were gliding and they merged and fell and the sun's light shone through them so that they turned to living streaks of silver .

And now the setting sun leaves the trees darkening to a greener shade of black and the sky to a greyer shade of powderblue and layers of flimsy cloud pinken brightly in the western sky and the breeze is stirring what remains of the leaves and the higher branches sway against the darkening sky, and there is silence for a moment broken only by the computers quiet fan cutting in from time to time
